Our
Neighbors Concern

I am sitting here shaking and decided to write this.

For the second time in 4 months someone's dogs have been after cats. I know that people don't like the stray cats, but it is not the cats fault. People turn the cats out and or they move off and let the cats fend for themselves. I happen to love cats and have taken it on myself to feed and provide for several stray cats from the neighborhood. 4 months ago 2 pitbulls came and chased the cats and caught one and it had to be put down. These were not some stray dogs. One was a female who had recently had pups and wore a collar. With her was a young male pitbull. Tonight I heard barking on my front porch and opened the door and there was a large light brown dog wearing a red jacket tearing my front porch apart looking for cats. Thank goodness it didn't get one.
For those who don't know there is a leash law in Phoenix and your dog can be picked up if loose and held and it will cost you to get it back. The cats that are coming to my home have been spayed or neutered and only wish for food and water and maybe some kindness.
I will from now on call the police if this happens again. We have some new families in the neighborhood and what would happen if one of the many small children happened to be out when these dogs are out. It makes me sick to think of the consequences. Please keep your dogs at home and your cats also. It is a hard life for them on the street.
